LUSH X Smurf
Brief: This campaign promoted Lush’s Charity Pot while raising awareness for environmental and cultural preservation. In partnership with The Smurfs, it featured a limited-edition bath and body collection benefiting Sacha Kuyrana Maltakuna, an Indigenous youth group in Ecuador. Timed with a relevant holiday, 100% of proceeds (excluding tax) supported anti-deforestation efforts and Kichwa heritage preservation. Deliverables included an email, newsletter, two posters, product descriptions, and a website mockup.
Challenges & Key Insights: Balancing The Smurfs’ playful tone with Lush’s minimalist aesthetic was a key challenge. Additionally, adapting existing product photography for mockups limited creative flexibility and required inventive visual solutions. This project showed the power of brand collaborations to blend social impact with consumer appeal. The Smurfs brought nostalgic charm and environmental relevance, while the grassroots partnership added authenticity. Tying the campaign to a holiday and highlighting impact helped drive both awareness and engagement.
Data & Research: Research focused on Lush’s brand identity, which is rooted in minimalism, bold typography, and a consistent black-and-white palette. The team analyzed Lush’s website and social media channels to guide the design direction and ensure visual and tonal alignment throughout the campaign assets.
